Condolence: We read at Psalms 90:10, “The days of our life are seventy years, or perhaps eighty, if we are strong.” But those days the scripture says, “Are soon gone.” Mr. Hoffman is gone after ONLY 93 years. Why do I say ONLY when that seems to be a long time? It is because no matter how long we have with our loved ones, it is never enough. We want forever, don’t we?
Well, God promises us ETERNAL life (John 3:16). “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away,” says Revelation 21:4.
Now try to imagine the happy reunion when friends and relatives, once separated by death, embrace Mr. Hoffman again! I invite you to go to the website jw.org to see a wonderful video entitled “Is there Hope for the Dead?” I pray that this can fortify your confidence in God’s promises and strengthen this hope in your heart. May sincere condolences to the family.
