Condolence: Over the years, Kelly Jo and I laughed at how many times without prior planning, we would send each other the same card. Lots of you will know it, vintage Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. These are the words the card said -
Piglet sidled up to Pooh quietly from behind. "Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."
In our nearly fifty years of friendship, I could always be sure of Kelly (and she of me). Even if we hadn't spoken for a time, we were sure.
I wish more than anything that I could be there with you all today, to celebrate her life and to share our sorrow. Tom, Tony, Sarah, Mom, Beth, all of you - thank you for sharing her with me all these years. I can't bring myself to say goodbye to Kelly Jo...because I have to believe she will always, ALWAYS be here with us, quietly slipping her hand in ours to help us be sure.
Condolence: There are no words that can express our sorrow that Kelly has left us. Our hope is that one day we shall all be reunited with no more pain, illness, or death. May God strengthen you and sustain you in the coming months.
