Obituary for James Russell Racine
Mr. James Racine, Age 59 of, Hastings, MI passed away on May 24, 2023, at his home in Hastings, MI
Jim was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on August 01, 1963, as son of the late Robert & Susan (Beaumont) Racine
He was raised in Ada, MI, and attended local schools graduating from Northview High School in 1981. After graduation Jim boarded a bus, and headed to “Boot Camp”, to begin his service in the United States Marine Corps, serving two years before being discharged. After completing his military service, James spent several years working at Wolohan Lumber until switching to the HVAC industry which he did for many years before his health forced his retirement.
He was married to Martha (Kowejsza) Racine on May 23, 1987, in Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MI. in 1990, Jim & Martha completed construction on their new home, and they relocated to the Hastings area.
Jim enjoyed building military model vehicles and playing video games on his computer. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed visiting Michigan International Speedway, parking the motorhome in the infield, and walking around with his friends prior to the race.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Martha, and his son Mike, and brother John Racine. He was preceded in death by his daughter Ashley, and his parents.
