Obituary for Earl Clarence Furlong
Earl Clarence Furlong, of Nashville, Michigan, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at the age of 93. Earl was the son of Clarence and Mary (Brainard) Furlong, born August 12, 1929. He was married to the love of his life, Elizabeth (DeMond) Furlong on June 6, 1954.
Earl is survived by his daughter Anita (Furlong) Fox (Steve Reynolds); grandchildren Ashley Fox (Amon Smith), Benjamin Fox (Brie Rosecrants); great grandchildren Payton Morawski, Blake Morawski and Bodey Morawski.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Elizabeth, brothers Clarence “Bud” Furlong and Wallace Furlong, and by his son Michael Furlong.
Earl was a man of many talents, working for Hastings Bookcase, Lentz Table Company and Pennock Concrete before serving for 30 years at EATON. Thereafter, Earl was owner/operator of Furlong Heating Sales and Service for an additional 40 years before retiring.
He loved spending time with his family, camping trips, fishing, hunting, mushrooming and often tinkering/building his own creations. Earl was always willing/wanting to lend a helping hand. His skills for building shone through as he built his family home on Thornapple Lake Road, also assisting in the building of his daughter’s home as well.
At Earl’s request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Earl’s name to the Nashville Fire Department Memorial.
