Obituary for Mary Lee Hansen

Mrs. Mary Lee Hansen age 76 of Hastings, MI passed away unexpectedly on December
10, 2022 in Holiday, Florida.

Mary was born on September 22, 1946 the daughter of the late Howard and Genevieve (Gross) Allen. She was raised in the Nashville area attending local schools, graduating from Hastings High School class of 1965.

Mary was married to Heber Hansen at Peace United Methodist Church in Nashville, MI. on June 16, 2001. The couple made their home together in the Hastings area where they established lifelong friendships.

Mary spent her working career as a Legal Secretary, beginning her career in private practice, but later transitioning to Barry County Friend of the Court, where she served faithfully for over 25 years before retiring in 2003.

For several years Mary was an instrumental part of organizing the Hastings Summer Fest, volunteering on many different committees. She was also a member of the Nashville VFW Post 8260 women's auxiliary, the Moose Lodge in Delton, the Nashville United Methodist Church, and the American Legion in Holiday, Florida.

After retiring, Mary and Heber enjoyed traveling. Over the years, they have traveled extensively throughout the western United States, and she also enjoyed visiting New York City with her daughter Cyndi and granddaughter Jessica. Florida was always a favorite destination to escape the cold winter months in Michigan, and they eventually made a permanent residence in Holiday, Florida. During the winter months, Mary enjoyed spending a relaxing day at the pool, visiting the local flea markets, and an occasional trip to the casino.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband Heber Hansen, her daughter Cyndi (Patrick) Camling, son Dennis Snowden, step son Duane (Caryn) Hansen, Step Daughters Tammy Hansen, Lisa (Mike) Ingraham, and Cindy (Gary) Casteel, grandchildren Jessica Brierly-Snowden, Jacob Stockham, Kasee Gross, Lindsey Howell, Logan Camling, Ian Camling, Trisha Sears, Robert Hansen, Leslie Hansen, Ashley Carabajal, Victoria Casteel, Alexis Payne, Michael Ingraham, Myrandia Ingraham, Joshua Lagle, Sarah Gordon, and 7 great grandchildren, brothers Bill (Sharon) Allen, Ken (Janice) Allen, Roger (Cindy) Allen, sisters Vickie Jordan , Sylvia Hoeve, and beloved cousin Sandy Simpson.


She was preceded in death by:
Parents Howard and Genevieve Allen, brother in-law Butch Jordan, and brother in-law Russ Hoeve.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Daniels Funeral Home - Nashville on December 21, 2022 from 11:00AM - 12:00PM.

Funeral services will be at 12PM at the Daniels Funeral Home - Nashville with Pastor Crystal Fox officiating.

Immediately following the funeral services, friends and family are invited to the Nashville VFW Post 8260 for a time of fellowship and luncheon.

Interment will take place privately at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville, MI.
