Obituary for Vivian Dockter
Vivian Dockter, Age 90 of, Woodland, MI passed away on September 26, 2022, at Commonwealth Senior Living at Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids, MI.
Vivian was born in Detroit, MI, July 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Ethel (Klackling) and Ivan Watson.
She was married to Mr. Dale Dockter in 1949 and the couple began their family together in the Woodland area where they raised their children. .
Vivian was employed at the Barry County Medical Facility for over 30 years, beginning her career as a hairdresser. Vivian expanded her duties into being a nurse’s aide for several years, before joining the central supply department, where she was responsible for sanitizing, and sterilization of medical instruments.
Vivian was a dedicated worker, who along with her duties at the medical facility also owned and operated The "Dockters Inn", in Clarksville with her husband Dale.
Although her spare time was limited, when she was able to get away, she enjoyed going shopping, and taking her time looking at the "shining" things. For over 60 years Vivian enjoyed watching her sons play in the band which they did since they were young teenagers.
Vivian is survived by her sons Larry (Melissa) Dockter, Lance (Kristine) Dockter, Leonard (Teresa) Dockter, daughter Linda (Darrell) Huhn, 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She was precded in death by her husband Dale in 2009, her brothers Victor Watson, & Earl Watson
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 02:00 PM at Daniels Funeral Home Nashville, 9200 E M 79 Hwy, Nashville, MI.
The family will receive visitors, on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 12:00 PM 02:00 PM at Daniels Funeral Home Nashville.
Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service at Woodland Memorial Park, Woodland MI.
Following the graveside service, the family has invited friends and relative for a time of fellowship and luncheon at the Woodland Eagles.
