Obituary for Mary Miller
Mary E. Miller, Age 83 of, Hastings, MI passed away on August 14, 2022 at Spectrum Health Pennock Hospital in Hastings.
Mary was born in Freeport, MI, October 16, 1938, the daughter of William and Sarah Slocum.
Mary attended Hastings schools graduating in 1956. She was a majorette in the Hastings High School marching band.
While her children where young, Mary began working in the office at Ace Hardware in Hastings, MI. She worked faithfully for over 50 years. working well into her 70's. Mary was a dedicated mother to her 6 children and loved her family very much.
In her spare time Mary enjoyed, reading romance and mystery novels, watching reality TV & medical drama shows, watching Tiger Woods play golf, NASCAR, and ABC news with David Muir. Throughout the years, Mary used her crocheting skills to make blankets for each of her grandchildren.
During the summer months, Mary enjoyed watching the birds, and tending to her flowers. When her sister Sally would visit the two enjoyed catching up while spending the day “antiquing”.
Mary is survived by her children Gordie (Janet) Miller, Becky Uptgraft, and Sally (Bob) Teunessen, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, . daughter in law Starla Miller, and nephew Dan Gallup. She was preceded in death by her children Dave, Steve & Scott Miller, and sister Sally Carl.
Funeral service will held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Daniels Funeral Home Hastings, 1401 North Broadway, Hastings, MI. with pastor Kim Metzer officiating.
The family will receive visitors, one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM 12:00 PM at Daniels Funeral Home Hastings
There will be a time of fellowship and funeral luncheon immediately following the funeral service at Daniels Funeral Home Hastings).
Interment will take place privately at Hastings Township Cemetery.
