Obituary for Dennis Wolff

Dennis Herbert Wolff

Mr. Dennis Herbert Wolff, age 69, of Byron Center, MI, passed away Monday, April 5th, 2021 at Metro Health Hospital, Wyoming MI.

Dennis was born in Grand Rapids, MI on April 30, 1951, a son of the late Joan (Tysson) and Herbert Wolff. He was raised in the Grand Rapids area and attended Ottawa Hills High School, graduating 1970.

On April 18, 1975 Dennis married Sandra (Sayen) Wolff in Grand Rapids, MI. Dennis and Sandi began their lives together in the Grand Rapids area, actually purchasing the exact home that Dennis grew up in. A short time later they relocated to Dorr, MI where they raised their family and enjoyed a slow-paced country lifestyle, which afforded Dennis the opportunity to deer hunt in the fall. Everyone who knew Dennis, knew the level of love and commitment he and Sandi shared during their almost 46 years of marriage.

Dennis loved being "home", especially playing with family in the swimming pool, and spending time with grandchildren, and his dogs. Although he preferred to stay close to home, he did also enjoy an occasional short trip to the Traverse City area or Chicago when time permitted.

During the summer months, Dennis enjoyed spending a warm afternoon fishing the many inland lakes in the West Michigan area, and perhaps a road trip to the big lake to walk along the pier.

Providing for his family was his top priority, working hard at Steelcase where he spent over 38 years as a Machine Operator before retiring in 2011.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Sandi, his daughter, Kimberly Wolff, his son, Adam, (Jacci) Wolff, two brothers, Wayne (Barb) Wolff, Bill (Traci) Wolff, 4 grandchildren Kaleb and Edin Biberovic, and Hunter and Stella Wolff.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Eva Sayen. Brothers’ in-law, Mike Sayen (Pam), Dave Sayen. Sisters’ in-law, Sue Hazen (Bob), Nancy (Greg) Sample, Mary (David) DeVries, three aunts and uncles, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service celebrating Dennis's life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at the Wayland United Methodist Church, in Wayland, MI.
