Obituary for Mildred Wells

Mildred Wells

Mrs. Mildred Wells, age 64, of Nashville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at Spectrum Pennock Hospital, Hastings, MI.

Mildred was born in Barberton , OH on January 25, 1957, the daughter of the late James and Leona (Decker) Luzader.

She was raised in the Nashville area, and attended local schools. Mildred was the wife of Mr. Nicholas Wells. The couple was married November 20 1973 in Nashville, MI. They made their home together in the Nashville area.

Mildred was employed at the Eaton County Medical Facility in the Housekeeping and Laundry departments, retiring in 2005 after 25 years of service.

When Mildred was home, she enjoyed Knitting, and embroidery. Her passion, however, was traveling with her beloved husband Nicholas. After the couple retired, they spent most of their free time visiting all of the National Parks in the United States.

She enjoyed embroidering, knitting, and traveling. Along with her husband they traveled to hundreds of national parks throughout the United States. They simply packed up their truck and began their journey, insisting on paying full price at each park to insure they had a paid receipt for each park to document their adventure. Highlighting their expedition were stops at the Rocky Mountain, Navajo Reservations, Zion, Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, and Everglades National Parks. Upon arriving at Mount Rushmore, the couple's dedication to their journey was honored with a lifetime pass to the park. For Mildred and Nicholas, the destination was the end result of precious hours spent together seeing the United States.

Mildred is survived by her beloved husband Nicholas, her daughter Leona (Dan) Hammond, Ashley (James) Barber, sister Ginnie (Clarence) Vessels, Kathy Russell, Barb Patrone, step brother Lavern Decker Step sisters Lorrian Palmer-Carter, and Rosie Cook.
