Obituary for Rollin "Eugene" Caddick

Rollin "Eugene" Caddick

Mr. Rollin "Eugene" Caddick, age 89, of Nashville passed away Friday, December 11th, 2020 at Borgess Hospital, in Kalamazoo, MI.

Eugene was born in Wolverine, MI on May 10, 1931, the son of the late Charles and Bernice (Welling) Caddick. At the age of 7 Eugene contracted Scarlet Fever and was in a coma for 53 days. When he awoke he had lost his hearing and later learned his twin sister Jean had died from the disease. Eugene moved away from his family to the Flint area, where he completed his education in 1949.

Eugene was a very strong and determined man, and despite his hearing loss, worked as a Automotive Finisher at General Motors for 32 years, before retiring in 1985 at the age of 52

His love of Jesus Christ led Eugene into the mission field where he joined a traveling ministry call RV MAPs. The group traveled the country in RV's to help build churches, camps, and other ministry facilities and grounds. During his long and productive life, Eugene also served on mission trips outside the United States, including Mexico, Peru, Kosovo, Jamaica, and Ecuador.

Eugene's hearing loss never hindered him for doing anything he wanted. Over the years he developed the ability to communicate with people who didn't even know proper sign language; in a game of Charades, you wanted Eugene on your team!

Eugene is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Riggenback, Dorothy Koronka, Shirley Yob,

He was preceded by his daughter Eleanor, his wife Donna. sisters Eunice Hitchcock, Hazel Fox, and twin sister Clara Jean Caddick

Funeral Services were held at The Nashville Assembly of God Church, Nashville, MI, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 17th, with Pastor Glenn Branham officiating.

Eugene will be interred at the Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine Michigan.
