Obituary for Sondra Franco

Sondra E Franco

Mrs. Sondra Franco, age 82, of Hastings passed away Sunday, October 4th, 2020 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, in Grand Rapids, MI.

Sondra was born on February 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Melburn Ruddick and Pauline (Wood) Brown. Sondra spent her younger years in the Manton Michigan area and attended local schools, until the family relocated to the Lansing area where she completed her education graduating from Lansing Sexton High School in 1956

Sondra worked as a Server at the Lansing City Club (Jack Town Hotel) where she met the love of her life, Arturo. On January 20, 1962 the couple exchanged their vows.
The couple began their lives together in the Lansing area, but moved to Woodland, MI to trade the "city" life, for a more relaxed life in the country. In 1985 they purchased their forever farm in Nashville where they spent many wonderful years enjoying the natural beauty of farm life.

Sondra's first priority was the care of her family. While her family was growing, she focused all her attention and energy tending to their needs.

During the warm spring and summer days, Sondra enjoyed spending time in her garden, and taking a road trip to do some shopping at Shipshewana. Sondra loved the Lord and was an active member at multiple churches throughout her wonderful life. Her grandchildren were always a true source of joy for Sondra, and she especially enjoyed baking special treats when they came to visit.

Sondra is survived by her daughter, Kimmy Franco, two sons Ray (Verna) Franco, Isaac (Stacy) Franco, two sisters, Constance Herblet, Jeanie Fillingham, 3 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband Arturo in 2010, her daughter Shelly Franco, and her infant sister.

Funeral Services Will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 1 PM on Friday, October 9th, with Pastor Garry Patrick officiating.

The family will receive visitors prior to the funeral service beginning at 11 until funeral time at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.

Immediately following the funeral service there will be an "old fashion" picnic style luncheon on the lawn at the funeral home, bring a lawn chair, a dish to pass, stay and fellowship while we celebrate Sondra's life on a beautiful fall day.

Memorial contribution can be made to the family of Sondra Franco.
