Judith Gurganious

Mrs. Judith Gurganious, age 81, of Hastings passed away on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, MI.

Judith was born in Grand Rapids, MI on August 2, 1938, the daughter of the late Floyd and Audie (VanderLip) Hunt.

She was raised in the grand rapids area and attended Creston High School. In 1974 Judith returned to school and completed her education, graduating with her daughter Sue.

Judith worked for Hastings Manufacturing, Toms Market in Hastings, and tended bar at the Elks & Moose Lodges in Hastings for several years. In 1981 she moved to Florida where she kept active working as a cashier and volunteering at Hilsbourgh State Park, returning to Michigan in 2014 to be close to her family. Judith loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed giving her time for volunteer work in the community, camping, playing cards and crocheting.

While her family was young, Judith enjoyed taking them on picnics and to airports, which is a tradition that has been passed down through the years.

Judith is survived by her children, Sue (Steve) Bennett, Julie (Jeff) Wells, Janet (Mike) Dalman, Kelly (Dave) Holbrook, Kathy (Scott) Sherman, and Sheryl (Jeff) DeBoer. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jess & George Replogle, Joel Aldrich, Mickey & Mike Bates, Kevin & Kim Galske, Jen & Ryan Winebrenner, Jason & Kortney Bennett, Nichole & Randy Schwarb, Jeff & Felicia Wagner, Stephanie & Jon DeBoer, Stevielyn Milligan and Dionna & Nick Hicks and 27 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clem Gurganious.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Elara Hospice of Michigan.
