Obituary for Carol Cheeseman (Tesch)

Mrs. Carol Cheeseman, age 68, of Maple Grove Township passed away Wednesday, March 4th, at her home.

Carol was born in Park Falls, WI on May 11, 1951, the daughter of the late Howard and Adalia (Tank) Tesch.

She attended local schools, graduating from Butternut High School.

In 1977 Carol was married to Mr. Elmer Cheeseman and they made their home together in the Nashville area where they raised their family. Carol & Elmer have celebrated of over 43 years of marriage.

Carol worked as a Seamstress at Attwood Automotive where she specialized in sewing seat covers for the automotive industry. She also worked at Baby Bliss in Nashville for several years. Carol's first priority was always her family and when her grandchildren were born, Carol left her working career to spend time caring for them.

Carol loved tending to the needs of her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and canning to ensure the family was well fed and taken care of. Whenever Carol was involved in a project or hobby she went "all in!” Throughout the years Carol volunteered as a Band Booster, and 4H leader, eventually showing rabbits with her granddaughters at open shows all over the state. Carol supported her granddaughters at the 4-H fair every year, camping with them and guiding them in their chores and individual events. Carol was a generous person and became a second mom to many of her children’s friends in the community throughout the years.
Christmas was a very special time for Carol and her family, and she spent many hours shopping for seasonal decor in Frankenmuth. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling. She loved to go on vacation, packing up the family and heading to several destinations throughout the Western United States, Alaska, New York, Canada and even Australia.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband Elmer, her daughter, Rachelle Hawley, son, Kevin Cheeseman six sisters; Betty Wittling, Helen Tank, Charlotte Tesch, Judy Richter, Evelyn Kerfoot, Sally Pickett, three brothers; Alvin Tesch, Howard Tesch, Myles "Butch" Tesch, daughter in law Rexanne Cheeseman, granddaughters; Jessica, Jessa, Katelyn, & Michaela Cheeseman, grandsons; Gabriel & Benjamin Gorton, and great granddaughters; Lilly, Corrah and Payten.

She was preceded in death by her son Michael Cheeseman, brother Frank Tesch, sister Mary Altman, grandson Andrew Cheeseman, nieces Amy Altman, Caroline (Wittling) Bunce, Michele Tank, nephew Michael Wittling, and cousin Dennis Tank.
