Mrs. Bonnie June Hendershott, 79, of Hastings passed away Thursday, September 26th, 2019 Spectrum Pennock Hospital

Bonnie was born in Lucky, OH on May 1, 1940, the daughter of the late Franklin Elmer and Pearl Wynonna (Campbell) Heckert.

Bonnie was raised in the Hastings , and attended Hastings High School.

Bonnie was married to Mr. Dwight Merton Hoffman and together they raised two sons, David Dwight & Darrin John Hoffman. In 1985 Bonnie married Richard Hendershott in Las Vegas, NV. The couple established their home at Gun Lake where they raised their combined families together.

Bonnie and Richard had a vision to build a motel in the Gun Lake area, and together established The Gun Lake Motel in 1975. They owned and operated the business successfully until Richard passed away in 1988. Bonnie was a very strong independent women, and continued to operate the motel by herself for over 25 years before selling the business in 2000.

In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed attending garage sales, playing video games with her grandchildren, and many types of card games including Skip Bo, Euchre, and Phaze 10.

Bonnie is survived is survived by her two sons David & Darrin Hoffman 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husbands Dwight & Richard, her brother Stanton Sensiba, her sister MaDonna Joanne Jones, cousin Maddy Schutz and her great grandson Blake Huffman

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019

The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday beginning at 11 AM at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.

There will be a luncheon and time of fellowship immediately following the funeral service at the Hastings Elk Lodge.

Interment will take place following the luncheon at Rutland Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hastings Commission on Aging.
