Obituary for Christopher Hall

Christopher Dale Hall

Chris left this world for a better place on 8-12-2019 after suffering for years with COPD. A disease that left him breathless and often kept him from enjoying the things he loved the most.
He was born a celebrity of sorts, one of the Hall triplets who arrived into this world on News Years Eve in 1947. He, Carole and Christine (born in that order) made the front page of the local paper that week and many times again as the years went by. Most years they celebrated they’re birthday together and always included mom.
After graduating from High School in 1966, Chris joined the army and became the company clerk of his unit. That position yielded lots of humorous stories that he shared with friends and family through the years. He returned to his home town of Hastings where he continued to live, until eighteen years ago when he and wife Cindy bought their dream home and settled on Bristol Lake south of town near Bedford. There, many a happy day was spent fishing or just touring the lake in his pontoon boat enjoying the scenery.
Other days were spent on the golf course. Chris was “almost” a scratch golfer and won a lot of tournaments through the years. He loved his home course, Yankee Springs, but also took those clubs when traveling and played all over the United States. Other hobbies included mushrooming and casinos; along with Friday night card Euchre games. Back in the day, as Chris always put it, he was a champion Bowler and a pretty good dancer.
Along with play comes that word “work”. Chris retired from the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier in Hastings after 24 years of service. He met a lot of interesting people and many customers turned into “friends” through the years.
Chris is survived by wife Cindy and his beloved dog and companion, Molly; his sisters Christine Anderson and Carole (Milton) Poulos, and brother Ron (Juanita) Hall; children Kolene (Loren Tanis), Lisa (Gerard LaPonsie) and Julie Poole (David Greeno), Jessica (Jeff Niles), Jamie (Brandon Smith) and Pete (Dana) Smith; And mother-in-law, Joan Keech, whom he loved dearly. The lord also blessed him with nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Dale and Dolores Hall; Sister Judy Lenz; brothers-in-Law Jack Lenz; and Mark Anderson; and father-in-law Russell Keech.
His family is especially thankful for the team at Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care who provided comfort care and emotional support during his last days. Those who wish to make a donation to that organization in his memory can do so by visiting their website: FoundationOfSpectrum Health.org and choose Hospice.
We would also like to thank Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville for taking care of our needs.
A celebration of Christopher’s life will be held at the Pleasantview Family Church, 2601 Lacey Road, Dowling, MI on Sunday, September 15th at 3:30pm. Fellowship and a time to visit with the family is planned prior to that service at 2:30pm. A pig roast will follow at his home on Bristol Lake.
