Obituary for James Robotham

James "Jim" Robotham, of Dowling, passed away July 29, 2019, while enjoying a ride on his bike. Above all, Jim was sure about his faith in His Lord and is now in His presence. He was a devoted family man, with a big heart for those he loved, including his wife of 54 years, Ardyce, his children and his grandkids. Jim was a hard worker, dedicated to his projects and helping others. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, wilderness canoe trips, kayaking, hiking and biking. He was an enthusiastic Michigan State fan (Go Green!). Jim was born July 26, 1943 in Benzie County, Michigan. He grew up on a fruit farm and graduated from Benzonia High School in 1961. He attended Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in Packaging Engineering. Upon graduation, he moved to Battle Creek, later moving to Nashville, Michigan, while enjoying a career at The Kellogg Company for 33 years, working on packaging systems and material development. He was a world-wide traveler for the company, with many accomplishments and patents attributed to him. Jim retired from The Kellogg Company in 1999. Since retirement, Jim and Ardyce enjoyed adventures across the country with their RV, spending time with their children and grandchildren and serving in their church. They recently moved to Dowling, Michigan to a home on Bristol Lake.
