Life Story for Elton "Al" Pedley Jr.

Elton (Al) Pedley Jr., beloved husband, father and grandfather, died unexpectedly on April 22, 2019 at the age of 81. The longtime Michigan resident passed in Lady Lake, Florida.

Al is survived by his wife Audlane (née Whittall); his children, Debbie Wasko (Pete), Mark Pedley (Sue), and Diane Kilar (Kurt), and in laws Thomas and Susie Sonke, and Shirlee Pedley. Al was born in Wyandotte, MI on September 12, 1937 to Elton Pedley Sr. and Genevieve Stapish. He graduated from Ferris State College and eventually moved to the west Michigan town of Rockford where he married Audlane and raised his 3 children, who were the most important part of his life. He spent his entire professional career at Guardsman Chemical in Grand Rapids, where he worked for 38 years. Al loved spending time with family and friends and was known in his circle for his easy sense of humor and his abilities as an accomplished Euchre player.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00am on June 15th at the Our Lady of Consolation Church in Rockford, MI, with visitation from 9am – 11am. A luncheon will follow the mass. The family is still working on this request, but Al had asked that members of the Detroit Lions be pallbearers at his funeral so that they can let him down one last time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Consolation Education Foundation.
