Beverly Decker
Mrs. Beverly Decker, age 89, of Vermontville passed away Friday, March 8th, 2019 at Eaton Community Palliative Care, in Charlotte, MI.
Beverly was born in Portland, MI on December 3, 1929, the daughter of the late Dr. Vern and Laura (Cook) Benedict. She was raised in the Portland area and attended local schools
She was the widow of Mr. Bob Decker. Bob & Beverly were married March 1, 1947 in Mississippi while Bob was in the United States Army. Upon completed his service the couple moved to Portland, MI where they raised the family together. In 1984 Bob retired from the City of Portland, and the couple moved to the Vermontville to spend their retirement years in the country.
Beverly loved her family very much, and took great pride in their care. Beverly would spend hours in her kitchen canning, so her family would have fresh food throughout the year. In her spare time, Beverly enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and bingo. When her family was young, they enjoyed spending time together at Holland Lake, and camping at Six Lakes & Derby Lake. As her family grew, Beverly developed a special relationship with all of her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Beverly is survived by her 2 Daughters Brenda Whitaker , Betty (Larry) Russell, 3 sons Ken (LeeAnn) Decker , Robert A Decker , Russell (Sandy ) Decker, her grandchildren Shannon (Mark) Symonds, Sheila (Jim) Grider, Kilee Decker, Travis (Jason) Whitaker, Brandy (Jim) Reilh, Brian (Megon) Bice, Troy (Eileen) TenEyck, Tracy (Bryon) Janousk, Janelle (Adam) Ely, Bobby (Amanda) Decker, Amber (Greg) Stratton, Adam (Rusty) Decker, Ashley Decker, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in Death By her Husband Robert (Bob) Decker her Daughter Carol Bice and son-in-law Dean , Bice , Infant Daughter Scarlet Decker,and son-in-law Dave Whitaker
Private Graveside Services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville
