Gary Lee Wilbur
Gary Lee Wilbur passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
A graveside service was held November 1, 2018 at Fort Custer with full military honors.
Gary was born on December 14, 1948 in Romeo, Michigan to Evelyn (Brede) and Byron Wilbur.
Gary honorably served 21 years in the United States Army; he worked as a Motor Transport-Mechanic and retired at the rank of First Sergeant.
Gary was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed building things; playing golf, working with computers; and socializing with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife Dottie (Stevens) and children, Scott (Keri) Wilbur, Jeff Wilbur, Jenny Wilbur, Lori (Shane) Shaw, Tammy Berdecia (Andy Hayes), Jason (Robin) Wilbur, and Chad (Angie) Wilbur; brother Jay Wilbur; and several grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his brother Kevin Wilbur and parents Evelyn and Byron Wilbur.
It was an honor as his daughter, to write our dad’s tribute and to honor the man who gave the ultimate sacrifice, with pride. If you look inside his heart where no one else can see, you’ll find he’s sentimental and as soft as he can be. My dad was a fighter and a king! Hold him close, as I do, in your mind and your spirit.
