Terry Arthur Blanchett, age 80, passed away after a seven month battle with cancer with Pastor Steve Olmstead at his side, on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Magnum Care in Hastings. He was born in Battle Creek in 1937 to Arthur and Leona Blanchett. He worked at Minor Walton Bean Company in Charlotte for many years. After his father died he spent several years caring for his mother until her death in 1994. He was married to Lorene McAlister in 2006. She also passed away at Magnum Care, on January 15 with Hospice at her side, a few hours after Terry. He very much enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening (giving the produce to family and friends), collecting anything old, dancing with Lorene, playing cards with family and visiting with his family, friends and church family.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Patricia Wonders.
Terry is survived by his sister, Karen (Douglas) Day of Newaygo, one nephew, two nieces, six grand nieces and nephews, one cousin, Pastor Gerald Beach and numerous second cousins.
The family would like to express their sincere thank you to Pastor Steve Olmstead for his assistance and care to Terry and Lorene during their life journey together.
A memorial service will be held at Pleasantview Family Church, 2601 Lacey Road, Dowling, Mich., at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
