Life Story for Shane Kurr

Shane Kurr

Shane David Kurr, age 44, of Hastings passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus, in Grand Rapids, MI.

Shane was born in Grand Rapids, MI on June 18, 1972, the son of Kevin Kurr and Beverly Newton.

Shane was raised in the Delton and Hastings area, and attended local schools graduating from Delton Kellogg High School in 1990. Shane continued his education studying to become a Millwright, and was employed as a Union Millwright, also previously employed at Tri-Chlor of Hastings, K-industries, and Compositech.

Shane enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Shane is survived by his father Kevin Kurr, daughter Marissa Kurr, sisters, Kelly Voshell(Tim), Katilyn Harville(Grant),
two brothers, Shannon Kurr, Kevin Kurr II, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Newton.


Memorial Service will be held at The Thornapple Valley Church at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 31st, with Pastor Carla Smith officiating.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday August 31st, beginning two hours prior to the memorial service at 12 noon at Thornapple Valley Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family of Shane Kurr.
