Delphia Totten

Mrs. Delphia Totten, age 77, of Nashville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7th, 2015 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, MI.

Delphia was born in Hastings, MI on September 27, 1938, the daughter of the late Paul E. and Arlie (Reneau) Goforth.

she was the wife of Mr. Elgin Totten. The couple was married Aug. 26, 1968 and they made their home together in the Nashville area where they raised their family together. They have celebrated over 47 years of marriage. Delphia was a wonderful wife and mother who was always right there to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed, often having a warm meal ready when her family came home from a day of cutting wood. Through the years Elgin & Delphia enjoyed traveling with their children and have visited several popular locations including Disney, Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, and parts of the Western United States. She especially enjoyed sharing a campfire with her family and friends and snowmobiling in the winter. Delphia also play cards with her friends, crochet, and do word search puzzles.

She was employed at Hastings Fiberglass for over 10 years, and later worked as a Dietitian at Thornapple Manor until retiring in 2000.

Delphia is survived by her three daughters, Gale Hudson, Gwen (Dan) Wolfe, Geili Endsley, two sons Alan Totten, Jeff (Angie) Totten, five sisters, Wes (Maryanne) Erwin, Loraine (Lester) Altoft, Kathy (Leo) Hine, Bernice (Dan) Schilling, Brenda Davis, two brothers, Paul (MaryJo) Goforth, Joe (Gayle) Goforth, sister in-laws Joy Farrah, Janet Decker, Barb Totten 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elgin on October 2015 and her brother Tom Goforth and brother- in- law Elwood Totten.

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 1 PM on Friday, December 11th, with Pastor Deano Lamphere officiating.

The family will receive visitors Friday one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 12 noon at The Daniels Funeral Home.

Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Wilcox Cemetery Nashville, MI.
