Marian B. Owen

Mrs. Marian B. Owen age 79 of Nashville passed away Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 at Magnum Care of Hastings, in Hastings, MI. Marian was born in Marshall, MI on December 17, 1933; the daughter of the late John and Malinda (Houlton) Patton. She attended school in Marshall, MI graduating from Marshall High School in 1951. She was the wife of Mr. Albert B. Owen. Albert & Marian were married on February 16, 1957 in Nashville, MI and spent their lives together in the Nashville area where they raised their family . In February the couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Marian loved taking care of her family and enjoyed spending time with them camping in Evart, MI. This has become an annual tradition that runs three generations deep in the family. Marian was known for her giving spirit; giving gifts, giving peanut brittle during the holiday season, giving the gift of music, and giving the gift of her time and love. She was an instrumental part of the organization and operation of a local fresh food initiative and was a very active member in TOPS and the local VFW Auxiliary post 8260 in Nashville. Marian is survived by her beloved husband Albert, her two daughters, Deborah Shaffer and Kelly Stockham, her three sons, Robert, George, and Matthew Owen, her two sisters, Betty Bossard and Audra Cameran, her 12 grandchildren, and her 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 9 of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held at St. Cyril Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 20th, with Father Stephan Philip officiating. The family will receive visitors on Thursday September 19th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with Rosary service at 7 PM at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville. Interment will take place following the luncheon at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Hastings, MI.
