Mrs. Ardith G. Jordan age 85, of Nashville passed away Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings, MI.

Ardith was born in Cecil Bay, MI on October 10, 1927, the daughter of the late J.B and Mable G. (White) Cain.

She was raised in the Cecil Bay area and attended a one room school in Cecil Bay. Ardith was a very good student and learned quickly by watching and listening to the older students. This enabled her to move forward quickly and she was able to graduate High School early.

After she finished school, Ardith spent a short time in the Detroit area, but never cared for the city, and moved back to the Petosky area, where she began working with Bell Telephone. It was during this time that she met her husband Ahmo L. Jordan The couple was married on December 13, 1947 in Petosky MI. They relocated to the Lansing area, then moved out to the their Nashville farm in 1970. Throughout the years, the couple had worked together operating several small business from their farm including a bakery, icecream store, craft store, and Jordan's Wood Crafts. Ardith & Ahmo where married for 51 years when he passed away in 1999.

Ardith loved being outside working in her garden, using her skills to make crafts and helping her husband with their woodcrafting business. She was a "friend of Putnam Library" and often baked cookies for the library which where used for funding raising events. The wooden carousel horse which is still on display at Putnam Library was crafted and donated by the Ahmo & Ardith Jordan.

Ardith is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Jordan, Dawn Goodman, a son, Ralph (Tammie) Jordan, her sister inlaw Betty Cain, 7 Grandchildren, and 18 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph and Bruce Cain, and her daughter Pennie Lea Jordan who passed away at the age of two.

Funeral services and interment are being conducted privately.
