Geneva E. Novak

Mrs. Geneva E. Novak, age 89, of Hastings passed away Sunday, February 5th, 2012 at The Flower House, in Nashville, MI.

Geneva was born in Nashville, Michigan on November 14, 1922, the daughter of the late George S. and Evalee M. (Ayers) Marshall. She was raised in the Hastings area and attended local schools graduating from Hastings High School.

Geneva was married to the late Victor Schantz, Sr.; the marriage ended in divorce. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Mr. Lawrence Novak.

Geneva's family was always her first priority; and she took a great deal of pride in their care. She loved spending time outside working in her garden, visiting garage sales, China painting, reading and cooking for her family.

Geneva is survived by her husband of 41 years Lawrence Novak, her daughter, Mary Jean Smith, son,Victor (Nancy) Schantz Jr., three sisters, Marcelle Tooke, Marquita Clements, Rosemary Hathaway, several Nieces and Nephews, 6 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grandchildren. The family would like to extend their thanks to Pennock Hospice, and her special friend Thelma Lake.

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 2 PM on Wednesday February 8, 2012 with pastor Patricia Weatherwax officiating.

The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday beginning at 1 PM.

Interment will take place following the funeral service at Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville.

Memorial contributions can be made to Pennock Hospice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.
