Life Story for
HASTINGS, MI – Karen Doster, age 54, died peacefully Thursday, January 18 from complications due to diabetes.
Karen was born in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of Donald and June (Parmele) Doster.
She graduated from Delton Kellogg High School and Olivet College.
Karen worked at Hastings Schools as a paraprofessional. Karen also served many years as a Trustee on the Johnstown Township Board.
Karen loved her dog Sammy and cats Pistachio and Buster. She enjoyed shopping, flowers and decorating for the holidays. She loved to sing and was a member of the Nashville Baptist Church choir, nominated many times for Choir Member of the Year.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew Gregg Doster.
Karen is survived by her siblings Herb (Carol) Doster, Gordon (Judy) Doster, Robert (Karen) Doster, Sandi Nadzam and Janet (Joe) Maurer, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon at the Nashville Baptist Church on Saturday, January 27, 2018. The family will recieve visitors one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM until funeral time. There will be a time of fellowship and luncheon immediately following the funeral service at Nashville Baptist Church.
Interment will take following the funeral luncheon at Dowling Cemetery, Dowling, MI.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, Right to Life or a charity of one’s choice.
