Life Story for Lloyd Linsley

Lloyd E. Linsley

Mr. Lloyd Ellsworth Linsley, age 100, of Hastings passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Magnum Care of Hastings.

Lloyd was born on July 22, 1917 to Earl M. and Esther L. (Damm) Linsley. He attended school in Battle Creek & Eaton County.

He served 4 years in the Army Air Corps, during W.W.II including 30 months in India with the CBI Theater of war, 459th fighter squadron of the 10th Army Air Corps. He received the American Defense Service Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, 5 Overseas Service Bars, The Good Conduct Medal and Unit Badge and was honorably discharged as a ranking T/Sgt. in October 1945.

Lloyd farmed, worked at Michigan Carton, Oliver Aviation, and Clark Equipment retiring after 26 years with Hough Brothers Construction in Sunfield, MI.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 69 years Thelma (Penfold), three children, Bill Linsley, Jim (Kathleen) Linsley, Alice (David) Beard, five grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 with Pastor Harold S. Rogers officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 12 Noon at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.

Interment with full military honors will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue MI immediately following the funeral service.
