Amzie VanValkenburg

Mr. Amzie VanValkenburg, age 82, of Hastings passed away peacefully Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings, MI.

Amzie was born in Battle Creek, MI on April 30, 1935, the son of the late Leo and Sarah (Rich) VanValkenburg. He was raised in the Battle Creek area and attended local schools, graduating from Battle Creek Central High School.,

He was the husband of June (Whipple) VanValkenburg. The couple spent the majority of their lives together in the Redford, MI area where they raised their family together. After retiring from Ford Motor Company they relocated to the Hastings area. Amzie & June have celebrated over 63 years of marriage.

Amzie is survived by his beloved wife June, daughter, Crystal VanValkenburg, son John VanValkenburg, a sister, Calvena (Gordon) Little, half sister, Helen (Doug) Williams
three half brothers, Howard (Robin) VanValkenburg, Leo VanValkenburg, Doug Macomber, and 3 Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by half brother Aart VanValkenburg, and sister Avis Pelfree.

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday August 2, 2017, with Pastor Rick Foster officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 12:00 Noon at The Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.

Interment will take place privately immediately following the funeral service at Striker Cemetery in Hastings, MI.
