Stanley Norwood Hosey
Mr. Stanley Norwood Hosey, age 78, of Vermontville passed away Sunday, July 9th, 2017 at his home.
Stanley was born in Mulliken, MI on October 24, 1938, the son of the late Philip and Vera (Harrod) Hosey.
Stanley was one of seven children, and he was raised in the Charlotte and Sunfield area. He attended local country schools and graduated from Charlotte High School in 1956.
He was the widower of Darlene (Janousek) Hosey. The couple was married November 22, 1960 in Charlotte, MI. They began their lives together in the Charlotte area, before moving to Darlene's grandparents home in Vermontville where they raised their family together. The couple enjoyed camping together and spending time with their family and especially their grandchildren.
Stanley retired from Owens-Illinois in Charlotte where he worked as a Journeyman Mechanic.
He enjoyed animals and tending to his small farm in Vermontville. He also enjoyed watching horse races and playing cards and the lottery.
Stanley is survived by two daughters; Kim (Duane) Eldred, Kristie (Anthony) Faynor, his brother; Archie (Florence) Hosey, five grandchildren; Christopher Eldred, Katie (Dale) Hill, Emily (Dustin) Leik, Ford Faynor, Quentin Faynor, two great-grandchildren; Everett Stanley Hill and Rosemary Leik, brother & sister in-law; Larry (Suzie) Schulze, and many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 14, 2017, from 6-8 PM at Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI.
Memorial contributions can be made to Maple Valley FFA or the Maple Valley Scholarship Fund.
Interment will take place privately at Woodlawn Cemetery in Vermontville.
