Obituary for Vernon Trowbridge

Vernon  Trowbridge
Vernon Trowbridge, 88, passed away peacefully from natural causes, surrounded by his loved ones on February 24, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Viele) Trowbridge, they shared 68 years of marriage together.

Born in Grand Ledge, he was the oldest son of Clifford and Florance (Neff) Trowbridge. He graduated from Vermontville High School in 1947. He and his wife Mary were the owners of Trowbridge Service and Sales on Main Street for 48 years. Vern was proud member of the Vermontville community, active on the Village Council, Village President, Syrup Festival Association and the Lions.

Vern and Mary together raised their four children, Roger (Sue) Trowbridge of Vermontville, Karen Trowbridge of Cincinnati, Ohio, Vergie (Walt) Shaw of Olivet and Harold Trowbridge of Vermontville. The daughter of his heart is Retha (Doug) Puvogel. He was the doting grandfather of Rob (Nicole) Trowbridge, Andy (Michelle) Trowbridge, Mark (Debbie)Trowbridge, James (Kelly)Shaw, Tricia Shaw and Seth Trowbridge; loving great-grandfather of Josh, Kaylea, Grace, Alexander, Eliza, and Breanna Trowbridge.

Vern is also survived by his sister Donna (Lee) Brown of Saint Joseph and was preceded in death by his brothers Bud, Richard, Ben and his sisters Lois, Joyce, and Rita.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1st from 5 to 7 pm and Thursday, March 2nd 11 am to 12 noon, a memorial service will be held Thursday, 12 noon at Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville, MI. with Pastor Sue Trowbridge (daughter in-law) and Pastor Andy Trowbridge (Grandson) officiating. A 1:00 luncheon will follow services at the Vermontville Bible Church.

Memorial contributions can me made to the Vermontville Maple Syrup Association - Fireworks Fund.
