Mary Jane Oaster

Jane was born on April 6, 1929 and died July 8, 2013 at the age of 84. She grew up and raised her own family within the same eighth of a mile radius, south of Nashville, MI.

Jane graduated from Nashville High School in 1946 and then graduated from Barry County Normal in 1947. She taught at the Lincoln Country School 1947–1948 and married Robert Oaster on June 20, 1948.

She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, Becky Stark, Barb & Dave Dipert, John & Nilene Oaster, Nancy & Jeff Swift & Laurie & Bill Oster, 12 grandchildren & spouses, 33 great grandchildren, a brother, Joe & his wife, Marge Andrews, and numerous family & friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Bob, after 64 ½ years of marriage, her father & mother, Graydon & Elizabeth Andrews and grand daughter-in-law, Missy Stark..

Jane partnered with her husband, Bob, in the years of his livestock trucking business and the family farm. They raised 5 children together, and Jane always took loving care of her entire family. Jane was well known for her cooking, although her crab apple jam will always be a big favorite.

Throughout the years, Jane & Bob traveled to Europe, Alaska (twice), Nova Scotia, as well as taking their children & grandchildren on numerous trips throughout the United States. Jane particularly enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, and beautiful scenery.

A Memorial Open House will be held on Saturday, July 13th at the Vermontville Bible Church (Pastor Dan Smith) located at 250 N. Main St. in Vermontville, Michigan to celebrate her life and entrusting her to Jesus.
