Marilyn L. Irish

Mrs. Marilyn L. Irish, age 83, formerly of Nashville & LeRoy, MI passed away Monday, August 13th, 2012 at her Middleville home.

Marilyn was born in LeRoy, MI on October 7, 1928 the daughter of the late Sidney J. and Gladys (Belleville) Belville.

She was raised in the LeRoy area and attended LeRoy High school, graduating in 1948 as Valedictorian. Marilyn continued her education at Sparrow School of Nursing in Lansing, where she completed the program graduating as Valedictorian of her class.

She was the widow of Mr. Charles Irish. The couple was married September 22, 1951 in LeRoy, MI. at the Methodist church where Marilyn taught Sunday school through high school. Charles and Marilyn began their lives together in the Battle Creek area where Charles was employed at Kellogg's and Marilyn was working in the Obstetrics Department at Community Hospital. They relocated to the Nashville area in 1967 to raise their family together life in the country on the farm. After moving to their Lawrence Rd. farm, she then began work at Pennock Hospital where she worked for over 16 years before retiring in 1983.

When the couple retired they returned to the LeRoy area to enjoy their retirement years. During that time the couple enjoyed spending their winters in Florida and camping at Tri Lakes in Marshall during the summer. Charles and Marilyn were married almost 52 years when Charles passed away in 2003.

Marilyn also enjoyed working with her hands; knitting, crotching, and recycling greeting cards. One of her favorite things to do was go out to eat.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Suzan (David) Foster, her so ,Craig (Robin Jones) Irish
two brothers, Donald (Peggy) Belville, Carlin (Nancy) Belville, her grandchildren kelli Sylvester, Christopher Featherly, Sarah Hardin, Travis Irish, Joel Featherly. and great grandchildren Dylan, Nate, Allison, Makayla, Ayden, Katie, and Lillyann.

Funeral Services will be held at The Daniels Funeral Home, Nashville, MI, at 3 PM on Friday, August 17th, with Dr. Michael Conklin officiating.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.

Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service Barryville Cemetery Nashville, MI.
